World Day for Animals in collaboration with Vegan Activist Alliance.org and End Speciesism.org is a combined media performance global activism and arts event at Hudson Yards that is in solidarity with eco activist conceptual artworks, HYHK community, businesses and residents, legislative groups, artists, arts organizations, environmental, animal rights and social justice groups, arts supporters, visitors along the animals that are an important part of our lives and well being.
The event acronym HAACKA (Hudson Arts Activism for a Compassionate Kitchen Action) is a homage to artist Hans Haacke, his work on institutional critique that provides insights into real estate practice and eco systems in NYC.
The event is on 8/28 at 5-8 pm. After the event, there will be an artwalk around the mall around the Highline Plinth, down to W30th St and 10th Ave.
Times:
5-5;30 PM Ambient drums and percussion by Gladys Streetrat
5::30-8 PM Swing dance and cool acoustic band Cait and the Critters.
8 -8:30 PM Artwalk around the plaza to the Highline Plinth to see sculptures and public art, downstairs to 30th St and 10th Ave.
